Custom riverfront restaurant addition to existing hotel in Chattanooga, TN.  Heavy timber roof structure was designed in order to substitute traditional steel frame typically required for type 3 construction.  Glulams with T&G decking were left exposed in the public spaces.  Square footage demands required extending the building footprint into the riverfront boardwalk and reconstructing part of the walkway.  Pile foundations and close coordination with existing grades on banks of the Tennessee River were required.
